Nearly 50 Years Young, Package Decorator AQL Continues to Add New Technology, New Capabilities

(PRWEB) May 06, 2011

Fairview, New Jersey-based package decorator AQL Decorating, Inc., already has the first OMSO Axial machine in the U.S., which allows continuous 360-degree printing, even on irregularly shaped containers.

With a new Shorewood 6500 Series Rotary pressure-sensitive labeler, the company’s second such machine, AQL brings increased high-speed, front-and-back labeling capacity. According to AQL Vice President and General Manager Jim Sheehan, “This is the machine for precision, simultaneous front- and back-labeling applications. Not only does it dramatically reduce scrap rates, it can perform high-speed labeling on both round and oval bottles. Our customers get a quality product, quickly.”

AQL has also purchased an OMSO Novax M that features six-color capabilities. Another high-speed performer, OMSO is a manufacturer of premier decorating machines. Explains Sheehan, “What the Novax M brings to the table is the ability to flame treat, apply ink and UV cure all in one motion — it’s just one more way we can create a great-looking container that meets the demands and needs of our customers.”

With almost 50 years of experience in bringing decorating solutions to its clients, including helping the cosmetics industry keep a pretty face on their packaging, AQL’s Jim Sheehan says that the commitment to reducing waste while keeping quality high will never grow old. “We don’t want to just keep up with technology; we always want to be one step ahead.” With the addition of these two machines, it looks like AQL is already in the passing lane.

College Style Gains Prominence with Online Blog Written by College Students for Their Peers

College Style Gains Prominence with Online Blog Written by College Students for Their Peers

The online blog is written by college students, for college students. Each student on the team brings her own area of expertise to the blog. This specification shows in the posts.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 14, 2011

College Style (http://www.college-style.com) is an up-and-coming online blog written by college students concentrating on the realities of college life, the latest news in style and fashion, style inspirations from across the globe or from across the street and dorm decorating tips and trends.

College Style’s writers and editor are students attending universities around the country. Writers are given the opportunity to express creative freedom by choosing their own topics, stories and often submitting their own original photography. College Style has future plans to regularly feature guest bloggers from international countries or who have certain expertise in subjects of interest to this demographic.

College Style was created as a sister site to Deck My Dorm, a unique e-commerce retail site specializing in college essentials including girls dorm bedding and dorm decor, wall art and college essentials. Both College Style and Deck My Dorm were started by co-founders Jennifer Cook and Jana Contardi. Cook and Contardi also created Peace, Love & Decorating featuring the latest in home decor and home accessories, designer home lighting, vintage-inspired boutique jewelry from top jewelry designers, holiday decorations and girls teen bedding.

After Cook and Contardi realized they remembered little about college life from their college years, the pair handed the blog over to the current editor, Lindsey Cook, a journalism student at the University of Georgia.

“The changes in leadership are helpful to College Style’s overall aim,” said co-creator, Jana Contardi.

Continued Jennifer Cook: “The blog is geared to college-aged students so it’s important that college students write and edit the posts themselves since they know their audience best.”

Now, the blog features regular posts about international fashion inspiration, current style trends and obsessions, and the truth about important college milestones such as freshman orientation and rush from staff writers who experience them alongside upcoming freshmen readers.

Editor Lindsey Cook thinks adding an upcoming high school senior and soon to be college freshman as a staff writer completes the blog’s mission of detailing the whole college experience from the application process to graduation.

“We were really pushing to have a high school senior and soon to be college freshman on staff,” said Lindsey Cook. “The firsts of college years can be completely frightening and we think having someone on staff that can help students learn what to expect at big events like the first day of classes gives us a big boost above other blogs aimed at college students.”

The growing team of writers and guest contributors are stylish, fashionable and passionate about issues pertaining to this age group. They seek to serve as guides to students in their college years for all things from clothing choices to relationship problems.

College Style is always looking for additional college-aged students who possess these qualities to write for the blog. If you are interested in applying to write for College Style, please email your resume and a sample of your writing to info(at)college-style(dot)com.

RateMyRoom.Net Allows Homeowners to Rate Room Designs, Get Tips, Ideas

RateMyRoom.Net Allows Homeowners to Rate Room Designs, Get Tips, Ideas

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 28, 2006 -

“How does my room rate?” Now, thanks to a new Web site, homeowners can answer that question. The new site, Ratemyroom.net, allows design enthusiasts to submit photos and ask for feedback, praise or critique on their own decorating talents and challenges.

“There are many talented people who decorate their own homes and some of those rooms turn out so wonderful,” said Debbie Greene, president of DC Designs Inc. and creator of the new site. “Our site now gives the novice decorator a place to showcase their skills. Expert interior designers and architects often have their works published in professional magazines. Our site will spotlight real homeowners, their design skills and even assist them with their own decorating dilemmas.”

Greene said visitors to the site can rate photos submitted by the public. The rooms will be rated from one to 10 as alarming to charming, and the photo that receives the highest number of positive votes will be featured monthly on the site.

“I love Ratemyroom.net,” said Orsia Young, from Fallston, MD. “I got a chance to showcase a room I spent over a year putting together and got some great feedback from viewers. I also picked up some wonderful tips on how I could make some minor improvements.”

“But beautiful rooms aren’t the only thing the public will see,” Greene added. “Often a homeowner will have a room with a particular design challenge. With our site, they can submit a photo and ask for feedback from our visitors. You’d be amazed at the solutions other homeowners can offer.”

Greene, a National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) and American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) decorator, added that Ratemyroom.net will allow the public to offer suggestions to pesky decorating problems, such as odd shaped rooms, window treatments and color choices.

“If a homeowner has a specific problem, chances are someone else has faced the same dilemma,” Greene said. “Our site enables visitors to get tips from folks who’ve faced the same decorating challenges and found simple, real-life solutions.”

Visitors to Ratemyroom.net also may consult with a certified design specialist. The service, called “Improve My Room,” will enable homeowners to submit a photo and ask a specific problem, and within 24 hours, they will get a response from a professional interior designer. The service will cost $ 25, and the site will accept Visa or MasterCard.

Greene said this is a great way to start on a design plan. “Many homeowners get so overwhelmed when they start a decorating project. They’re just stuck. This service allows a professional designer to give them a quick, simple solution and guide in the right direction.”

With all the focus on home decorating from shows such as TLC’s “Trading Spaces” and HGTV’s “Design Star,” Greene said Ratemyroom.net will be a hit with the public.

“It’s a forum for exchanging decorating ideas and tips. It’s just like the old coffee klatch — but the electronic version. People have tremendous talent and this site will support and encourage them to try something new.” Site visitors agree. “Browsing other rooms is a lot of fun,” Young added. “Ratemyroom.net is addictive.”

Sophisticated and Classic Décor Available at Affordable Prices on Brand New Site

Harrisburg, PA (PRWEB) December 1, 2008

For most people, finding a decorative theme for their home can be a rather daunting task. For one, the clashing of styles, colors and overall aesthetic can be the difference between a beautiful room ready for a spread in Martha Stewart’s magazine and a mismatched hodge podge of clutter that would be best suited for “Trading Spaces.” Mark and Magda Dunmire knows the difference between a living room to die for and a disaster, so with ample gumption, the couple launched http://www.DecorAllDesign.com.

Debuting in October 2008, DecorAllDesign.com features a great selection of unique and classically styled décor accents such as fountains, lamps, sconces, mirrors, potters and silk flowers and plants.

“I’m familiar with the concepts of interior design,” explained Magda. “I knew that building a site like this and helping people decorate their home would be something fun.”

Another fun part of the site are the new holiday items they are currently featuring. Cute and traditional items like decorative tealight holders, Christmas figurines and various ornaments will no doubt be a big hit for the site.

“We have both fun and regal holiday products,” said Mark. “Right now, it’s pretty popular, but we’re looking beyond that, too and soon, we’ll be looking into incorporating more products and accessories in the future.”

One giant step that the month-old site has taken is launching a blog, http://www.DecorDesignBlog.com. The blog features a host of decorating tips and facts about some of the items that appear on the website.

With all the changes happening with the Dunmires, their drive to continue being an independent business relies on a very simple, yet altruistic, desire:

“We can help people make their home more beautiful,” said Mark. “We will continue to incorporate ideas of home décor and design through our blog.”

“And we will be able to provide the right accent pieces and have them at prices that anyone can afford,” added Magda.

Floor and Decor Outlets of America Inc. serves do-it-yourself consumers and professional contractors, focusing on the residential remodeling segment. In their competitive industry, Floor and Decor turned to Vayu Media the Atlanta internet marketing leader for Search Engine Optimization. When Vayu Media started, Floor and Decor had low rankings for keywords and not enough conversion points. The objective of the SEO campaign was to improve the Floor and Decor web presence and drive business to the ecommerce store at flooranddecoroutlets.com.

Prior to their engagement with Vayu, Floor & Decor had 2 keywords on page one of Google. Today, they boast 126 keywords on the first page. Their organic search revenue is up 140% with spikes of up to 200% during periods. Page views are up 200% and all top-tier competitive keywords Vayu Media targeted are in top 3 Google positions. Though seasonal spikes are expected, the trend line is moving from 12.5k to 25k weekly visitors. The return on investment has been incredible with a revenue/$ 1 SEO spend ratio of 13 to 1.

“The increase in organic revenue and keyword ranking has been great; however, the level of service provided by Vayu has been exceptional,” commented Cozean Hedrick Senior Manager, Social Networking & Online of Floor & Decor Outlets, Inc.

Over several months, Vayu Media optimized the Atlanta flooring leader’s site and measured that the traffic SEO was driving contributed to higher revenue and visitor count than other sources. The organic growth has eliminated the need for the PPC investment and offset the cost of Floor & Decor SEO services by the reduction in PPC spend.

Hollywood Painting Provides Informational How to Paint Videos to the Public

Hollywood Painting Provides Informational How to Paint Videos to the Public

Mississauga, Canada (PRWEB) November 9, 2007

Hollywood Painting (http://www.hollywoodpainting.com) is pleased to announce the release of how to paint videos available on the company website. With more than 30 years in the business the company has become accustomed to getting phone calls from people who want to know how to paint or create a specific finish. While Hollywood Painting has been happy to comment to each individual the goal is to provide all consumers with the ability to create that professional look without paying for a professional. The videos will help consumers learn about painting, repairs, stucco repairs and more.

Painting a home allows a homeowner to add a personal touch to the space. Unfortunately many people simply do not know how to paint well enough to achieve an end result that is satisfactory. Because of this lack of knowledge many consumers are forced to pay the high prices that professional painters demand. While the end result may be great, the cost is extraordinary and may not allow everyone to have everything painted the way they would like.

Hollywood Painting has released how to paint videos that really do seek to give the average consumer the information that is needed to obtain a beautiful finished product. The company says of the videos, “Have you ever refinished a surface and have been disappointed with the results? That is because you didn’t have the knowledge to plan and execute the job properly. Hollywood Painting videos provide in depth instruction on surface preparation, materials and equipment and also paint color selection.”

For more information visit: http://www.hollywoodpainting.com

About Hollywood Painting:

Hollywood Painting (http://www.hollywoodpainting.com) brings more than 30 years of painting experience to the table. In the last ten years the company has received countless calls asking for information on perfecting a certain technique or asking for general tips. These phone calls inspired the company to create how to videos that would answer questions in a very comprehensive manner that everyone can understand.
